Journey


Hi friends! I’m Kayla; I am a fitness loving, wellness obsessed, self-taught yogi living in Los Angeles, CA with my adorable rescue dog, Harley. I moved to LA when I was 18 from a small town in Northern California to pursue my education in Culinary Arts and Business Management. My passion for all things regarding mental and physical health stemmed from learning how to navigate through my own personal healing journey. Although I am no expert by any means – a series of unplanned life experiences, combined with my Culinary background and Business Degree, is what ultimately gave birth to this blog.

It wasn’t until being introduced to yoga in 2019 that I began to slow down, find balance, and start listening to my inner voice. Prior to yoga, I still worked out regularly; from running, to a variety of different HIIT classes, but the mind to body connection wasn’t there. I was living an extremely toxic lifestyle, where I found myself just going through the everyday motions. And although I looked “healthy” from the outside, I was the furthest thing from it. I was in a relationship that dominated my life, where I went from being an optimistic, ambitious young girl to very unhappy, disconnected and unhealthy. There came a point where I realized I had two choices: stay down or get up…thankfully, I chose the latter of the two.

That powerful choice to leave my then toxic lifestyle and dedicate myself to ME is what brought me that much closer to my yoga practice. Which in return, brought about so much relief, clarity and happiness. I’ve now been able to find my passions and the strength to share my story.  Trusting your intuition, self-love, and maintainable healthy habits are the themes around here, as those are the very things I’ve struggled with for years. I’ve been able to turn my traumas and weaknesses into some of my greatest assets and strengths. I definitely don’t have it all together or have all the answers – but my hope is that through sharing, I can inspire you to also live a healthy and truly happy lifestyle starting from the inside out.
